Catechesis
The Catechisms Compared
Six catechisms on one spine, the Westminster Shorter: what each asks, what only one asks, and what a church would keep.
← Catechesis: learn the catechismThe spine
Each row is keyed to the Westminster Shorter Catechism, in its order: every one of its 107 questions is in exactly one row. Rows marked addendum hold what the others teach and the Westminster does not ask. The number is how many questions a catechism gives the row. Open a row to read all six side by side, or turn on the ladder to read the words across.
Green: taught here. Red: taught by this one alone. A dot: not taught.

Mark any question, or a whole catechism, keep, maybe or skip, and say why. Every signed-in adult on the Word Hoard sees everyone’s notes; children’s accounts neither see nor write them.
Your notes are signed with your first name and last initial (not set yet).
Build a church’s own catechism from the six. Walk the spine: for each row, pick the question you want from any catechism, rewrite it if you like, or skip the row. Or press + ours beside any question in Compare or Read. Every question keeps the name of the catechism it came from, and the count shows how far the draft has climbed toward the whole Westminster.
